4. Serious Adverse Events
Under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022, known as MoCRA, cosmetic companies that qualify as the “responsible person” must report serious adverse events associated with the use of cosmetic products in the United States to the FDA. The FDA states that responsible persons are required to submit serious adverse event reports for cosmetic products.
A serious adverse event may include outcomes such as death, a life-threatening experience, inpatient hospitalization, persistent or significant disability or incapacity, infection, significant disfigurement, serious and persistent rashes, second- or third-degree burns, significant hair loss, or persistent or significant alteration of appearance.
If your report may involve a serious adverse event, we may contact you for additional information so we can evaluate and handle the report appropriately.
5. Product Use and Patch Testing
Always use Kamedis products according to the directions on the product label.
Before using a new skincare, scalp care, or hair care product, especially if you have sensitive skin, known allergies, or a history of reactions, we recommend performing a patch test.
General patch test guidance:
- Apply a small amount of product to a small area of skin.
- Wait 24 hours, or as directed by the product label.
- If irritation, redness, itching, burning, or discomfort occurs, do not use the product.
- If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for you, consult a healthcare professional.
