We are talking about dry, itchy skin, of course. The dry climate and indoor heat are taking their toll, leaving us itchy and quite frankly – frustrated.

Fortunately, we are here to help you with some great tips to improve your daily routine, and make sure your skin stays hydrated and glowing.

Accommodate Your Home

Dry air affects our skin tremendously, and we need as much humidity as we can get.  

This is why it is highly recommended to place a humidifier in the room where you spend most of your day. In many cases, it is actually your bedroom.

Avoid Super-Hot Long Showers

We know, a long hot shower can be such a pleasure in the wintertime.

But we're sorry to tell you that hot water is the number 1 enemy of dry skin, as it can harm your skin's natural hydration and the skin's moisture barrier.  

So make sure to keep your showers short, and lukewarm.

Switch to a Better Face Cream

Look for a face cream and body cream (rather than lotion) that is seriously hydrating.

The kind of cream you are looking for should contain ceramides and hyaluronic acid. These ingredients provide hydration and keep your skin's barrier intact and healthy.

Avoid Harsh Cleansers

Make sure you throw away any face washes or body soap with drying ingredients.

What your skin needs right now is hydration. Use a wash that is gentle and does not strip the skin of its natural oils.

Adjust and Upgrade Your Diet

Increasing your daily intake of fats can really affect your skin for the better.

This does not include fried or processed food. We recommend you eat walnuts and avocado, and use olive oil instead of vegetable oil.
