Getting Ready for Date Night?
It’s Valentine’s Day boys and girls, and as much as we all pretend not to care for it, we do! You can’t help it, getting a box of chocolates or a bouquet of roses or even just a thoughtful Valentine can put a smile on anyone’s face! I’ve been single on Valentine’s day and I’ve also been in a relationship, and I can easily say that getting dressed up for date night is way less depressing then watching The Notebook in bed with all the junk food I could get (because let’s be honest, if you’re single on V-day you should do it by the book).
The one thing I’ve learned over time when it comes to Valentine’s Day – and any date night in general, is that having clear skin is just as important as what I’m going to wear. Unfortunately, so much self-confidence can be invested into how we are feeling in our own skin. That’s why consistent care and self-love is so important for maintaining healthy skin that you won’t have to worry about come date night.
It took me awhile to know whether my skin is considered oily, dry or combination. If it’s best to wash my face once a day or twice; what moisturizer isn’t too heavy for my skin; how often to wash my hair; how much exfoliation is too much exfoliation… Each one of us is so different when it comes to what will work (both in products and usage), that there’s no real golden skincare regime. I honestly got so lucky when I started working at Kamedis because I was still on the search for products that can become my go-to for day-to-day care and I found them all in one place! Now for the last year I’ve kept consistently clear skin with the Acne Kit that I use once a day, moisturized skin with the Eczema Therapy Cream (even though I don’t have eczema), and a healthy scalp with the Dandruff Shampoo I use 4x a week. Now, just because it worked for me, doesn’t mean it’ll work for you. But using products that don’t use harsh chemicals and put your skin’s nourishment above all else, should be a number one priority on anyone’s list.
Anyways, as it is my one year anniversary at Kamedis, it is also my first Valentine’s Day date night without having any worries about the state of my skin. From now on you can find me stressing about which shoes I’m going to wear rather than googling ‘at home remedies to get rid of acne and dry skin FAST’.
